Welcome!

Hi, I’m Jen: a career coach who helps high achievers leave corporate to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

After 17+ years in tech, research, and education (and rising to director of a 70 person org), I became a coach when I realized two things: 1) developing people is my favorite part of the job and 2) balancing corporate and home life with young kids is near impossible.

Before I left, I was your typical over achiever. I worked hard and always ranked at or near the top. But, I also found myself switching industries and jobs pretty frequently.  As a multi-passionate individual with high standards for life, I would either find myself bored once I mastered a role (I’m not a maintenance mode girl) or disillusioned with the company culture and wanting more. I have never been someone who could settle.

Finally I found a company where I could grow: ServiceTitan. And boy did I!

But after 7 years it wasn’t enough

. . . .

But after 7 years it wasn’t enough . . . .

  • I came in as employee #442 and left when we were 3K plus.  I had 5 roles in 3 different departments over my 7 years there.

  • It worked because I got to lead people and have so many abilities to learn and grow. But it was also a grind. We were running an ultramarathon at a sprint pace.

  • This whole time I was still coaching on the side.

  • Even when my first daughter was born, I still made it happen.

  • But then with the loss of our 2nd daughter at 20 weeks pregnant and countless IVF setbacks, I started to see the toll the stress the long hours.

  • Combine that with turning 40, a dwindling set of embryos, health issues starting, and I knew I needed to take stock of my life. Was this really all there was? Endless work by both parents just to afford a decent life.

  • I wasn’t happy at work. It was a job. And I was no longer leading people.

  • I’ve always been about thriving not just surviving.

  • I’ve never been afraid to do things differently.

  • And this wasn’t working.

We have the truth

deep inside of us.

  • The problem was I wasn’t sure of the full solution right away, but I knew coaching was at least part of the answer. When we did get pregnant I knew what my priorities were: family, coaching, and then working for someone else.

  • I started getting more serious about my coaching business and shifting my time and energy to what lit me up.

  • I started taking better care of myself mentally, physically and emotionally.

  • And I took time to get true rest and space to think.

  • Plus, I asked for support.

  • It was at my own annual women's wellbeing retreat that the answer came to me.

  • I would and could leave my full time job and make it as a career coach. And I wouldn’t just survive as a coach (one of my fears) but thrive.

  • And I’ve never been happier or more fulfilled.

  • This is my calling.

  • My “why” is helping other women and multi-passionate professionals like you do the same thing - but faster, and with expertise and support.

My life outside of work

  • I live in the Pasadena, CA area with my husband Leo and our two young daughters: Olivia and Leonora.

  • I love being outdoors, running, traveling, and doing yoga with friends.

  • My happy place is reading a new book outside in my hammock with a decaf vanilla latte (with no mosquitos in sight!)

  • Before coaching, I spent 17+ years in international diplomacy and education (Fulbright, Peace Corps), research (Forrester and Gallup), start-ups (Yoi), and tech (ServiceTitan). I have a BA from Boston College.

  • A proud “army brat” I was born on an American base in Germany and grew up all up and down the eastern seaboard while ultimately settling outside of Albany, NY where I finished elementary school and high school.
